Online Video Session: Client view

Online therapy (also referred to as teletherapy, distance counseling or remote therapy) is a convenient, secure, and effective solution for your therapy needs.

Sessions are conducted via a secure HIPPA compliant video conferencing platform.
Phone sessions over a secure phone line are available as well.

We meet from the privacy of your own home, office, or anywhere you are with access to your phone, tablet, or computer and a good internet connection.

The Process: how do we meet for an online therapy session?

Sessions are conducted via a secure, HIPPA compliant video conferencing platform or by telephone on a secure HIPPA compliant phone line. After we schedule your appointment time, I will email you an appointment confirmation that includes the forms you will need to fill out and sign electronically prior to your appointment. Once the forms are submitted, I’ll email you instructions and the link that you’ll use to join your session. At the scheduled appointment time, click on the link you received, follow the onscreen prompts, and voilá! We’re face-to-face! If you have scheduled a phone session, I the process is the same as above except that I will call you at your scheduled appointment time.

Limitations: is online therapy appropriate for everyone?

  • Online counselors cannot respond to crisis situations

  • Confidentiality cannot be guaranteed to the same degree as in-person sessions due to limitations of technology

  • Please Note: Clients with severe mental illness that may require emergency services are NOT appropriate for this form of therapy and need to see a clinician in the office for the safety of the client.
